Safety First

  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal before starting
  • Work in a well-ventilated area away from open flames
  • Wear safety glasses and chemical-resistant gloves
  • Have a fire extinguisher nearby when working with fuel
  • Allow engine to cool completely before starting

Required Tools & Materials

  • Socket set (metric and SAE)
  • Fuel injector removal tool (recommended)
  • New O-rings and seals (included with Aurus injectors)
  • Dielectric grease
  • Clean shop rags
  • Fuel line disconnect tool
  • Torque wrench
  • Safety glasses and gloves
  • Locate the fuel pump fuse in the fuse box and remove it
  • Start the engine and let it run until it stalls (this relieves fuel pressure)
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal
  • Cover the intake manifold openings with clean rags to prevent debris entry
  • Label all electrical connectors and vacuum lines before disconnecting

Never work on the fuel system with the battery connected. Fuel vapors are highly flammable.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Engine won't start after installation

Check that all electrical connectors are properly seated. Verify fuel pump fuse is reinstalled. Ensure fuel lines are connected and not kinked.

Fuel leak at injector

Remove fuel rail and check O-ring condition. The O-ring may be torn, pinched, or improperly seated. Replace with a new O-ring and ensure proper lubrication.

Rough idle after installation

Double-check that injectors are in the correct position. Some vehicles are sensitive to injector placement. The ECU may need time to adapt - drive for 50-100 miles.

Check engine light after installation

Use an OBD2 scanner to read codes. Most common are misfire codes (P0300-P0308) or injector circuit codes (P0200-P0208). Verify wiring connections.
